The Weather at the Arenal region varies greatly, having the influence of both the Atlantic and the Pacific.

Yearly temperatures vary between 21º and 27,5º C. (70º and 83º F) Average annual rainfall is between 3500 and 5000 mm. Altitudes vary from 40 to 2000 meters (130 - 6600 feet) above sea level. The dry season runs from February to April, while the rainy season runs from May to January.
For your safety, we recommend traveling to and from La Fortuna during daylight hours, since the chance of encountering dense fog while driving in the evenings is very high.
The Arenal Volcano is one of the 10 most active in the world. All year long you can experience its incessant manifestations, including emissions of gases and sulphur steam, explosions with pyroclastic emissions, and loud rumbles. During the months of July, August, September, and October, you can behold the most amazing eruptions from any part of our hotel.
The herbal species of the area are numerous, including many types of tropical exotic hardwood tree species and palms, as well as a wide variety of flowers, such as heliconia, ferns, orchids, and bromeliads.
The most common fauna species include: tapir, white-tailed deer, jaguar, margay, wild boar, white-nosed coati, howler monkey, spider monkey, white-faced capuchin monkey, sloth, and many types of snakes and other reptiles. Exotic frogs and butterflies are always present.
